Hello! My name is Karissa and I am an elementary school counselor. My daughter, Keira, and I are so excited to share our puppies with you! My journey began with a Golden Retriever named Trillium. She was intentionally selected based on her temperament with the hope that she might become a therapy dog and one day a mother. Watching her bring comfort and joy to elementary students deepened my appreciation for the incredible impact a well-bred, well-loved Golden Retriever can have.
That experience inspired this breeding program, which also begins from a deep love of dogs and animal husbandry, years of preparation, a commitment to lifelong learning and the remarkable Golden Retriever who inspired it—my therapy dog, Trillium.. I don't believe responsible breeding means having all the answers. It means continually seeking them, listening to experienced mentors, and always putting the health and well-being of the dogs first.
Our goal is to thoughtfully raise healthy, well-socialized puppies with stable, people-oriented temperaments. While every puppy is an individual, I intentionally selected breeding dogs with excellent temperaments and strive to provide this new litter with a rich foundation of positive early experiences.
Puppies will be born in our home and thoughtfully introduced to a variety of age-appropriate experiences, guided by current research, veterinary recommendations, and the mentorship of an experienced Golden Retriever breeder. As a new breeder, I am committed to continually learning and refining my program so that each litter benefits from growing knowledge and experience.
Before going home, each puppy will undergo a temperament evaluation conducted by an experienced evaluator. These evaluations help us understand each puppy's emerging personality and make thoughtful recommendations regarding the best fit for each family. While temperament evaluations provide valuable information, they represent a snapshot in time and cannot predict a dog's future personality with certainty.
I'm committed to doing things thoughtfully, ethically, and transparently. I don't know everything, and I won't pretend to. I will continue learning, seek guidance from experienced mentors and veterinarians, and take lifelong responsibility for every puppy I bring into the world.
